Nolitha Fakude is Executive Director at Sasol Limited, member of the Risk and SHE Committee and Chairman of Sasol Mining. As Executive Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability Nolitha currently has global responsibility for Strategy, Group Risk as well as Group Safety, Health and Environment. Ms Fakude also oversees the strategy direction for the global Human Resources for Sasol.
As Council Member and Second Deputy Chairman of Human Resources Development Council of South Africa as well as the Co-chairperson of the Human Resource Development Council Technical Working Group since 2011, Nolitha brings to the Council her extensive experience in Transformation, Human Resource Development and Education and Training. The Council is chaired by Deputy President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.
The first woman President of the Black Management Forum (2003-2006) and its Managing Director prior to that, she now serves as Chairman of the Council of Elders and is a respected authority on transformation and empowerment in South Africa.
Ms Fakude is a member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF), Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) and a Trustee of the Women’s Development Business Trust (WDB). Ms Fakude has recently been appointed to the Global Foreign Direct Investment Association Board as well as the South African Ministerial Advisory Council on Energy.
Chairman and Directorships held include: Chairman of Sasol Mining Holdings (Pty) Ltd and non-executive director of Sasol Oil (Pty) Ltd; Chairman of the Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA); Chairman of Datacentrix Holdings Limited and member of University of Cape Town (UCT) Business School’s Advisory Board.
Ms Fakude holds a Bachelor of Arts and an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. Ms Fakude attended the Senior Executive Programme at Harvard Business School in the United States in 1999.
