Clara Priester has significant advertising and marketing experience with blue chip agencies, multinationals and small businesses. Her expertise is strategic marketing, planning, and training.
In 1978, Clara’s advertising and marketing career started at Leo Burnett Advertising Company located in Chicago, Illinois. Clara then joined McDonald’s Corporate Headquarters in 1987 where she was responsible for strategic marketing and planning, ethnic marketing and the breakfast business until 1998 when she undertook the responsibilities of Marketing and Communications Director for McDonald’s South Africa.
From 2003 to 2006, Clara held the position of Marketing and Communications Director at Wits Business School. During 2007 to 2009, she consulted with Endeavor and Raizcorp organizations on entrepreneur marketing challenges. Clara is currently the EducationUSA Regional Director for the U.S. State Department of Educational and Cultural Affairs where she is responsible for training and supporting EducationUSA Advisers in 23 east and southern Africa countries. She lectures at WBS and is a Director of Clacour International Pty (Ltd) an agent, sales and marketing company for local and international manufacturers of ethnic beauty products.
From 2003-2009, Clara was Chair of the Johannesburg Businesswoman’s Association (BWA); and from 2008 to 2010 a CAF Africa Board Member. Currently, she is a Trustee for the Glenhove Woman’s Private Equity Fund (WPEF) Board.
