Judi Nwokedi has a distinguished business and development career. She is known for her business engineering feats and has pioneered numerous innovative outcomes and content formats over the years.
Judi is currently Senior Vice President of AREVA in South Africa. AREVA supplies solutions for carbon-free power generation. As the world’s nuclear industry leader, AREVA’s unique integrated offer to utilities covers every stage of the fuel cycle, nuclear reactor design and construction and related services. The group is also expanding considerably in renewable energies – wind, solar, bio energies, hydrogen and storage – and aims to be one of the top three in this sector worldwide.
Prior to this Judi was Chief Executive of Motorola Sub-Saharan Africa, and in 2008 she set up TONSE (Pty) Ltd, an independent Internet Service Provider deploying 4G WiMax – the first of its kind in Africa – and she now chairs the group.
Between 2001 and 2005 as Managing Director of Public Broadcasting at the SABC, Judi led the largest media portfolio in South Africa and the Southern Hemisphere on a five-year contract. During this term PBS was the most successful commercial operation in the history of SABC. In 2004 she was nominated one of the Top South African Women in Media – one of many professional and academic accolades on her CV.
In 1994 she set up LoveLife, recognized globally as a best practice National Programme and today it continues to be the leading HIV/AIDS programme in South Africa. This programme emerged for the Gore-Mbeki Bilateral Commission between South Africa and the United States of America.
